Stick Review - CCM Ribcor Trigger 7 Pro

CCM Trigger 7 Pro Stick Review

Today we dive into the CCM Ribcor Trigger 7 Pro hockey stick.

Let's talk about the 2022 Ribcor lineup, starting from the top of the line Trigger 7 Pro down to the 84k. We'll find a low kick point and CCM's E geometry, which we'll discuss later in the review.

The Trigger 7 weighs in at 415 grams , and the stick's aesthetics have changed this year from the green seen on the Ribcor line to a new purple .

Now, let's get into the technologies. Starting with the shaft, the Trigger 7 features an upgrade over the Trigger 6 with the Advanced Carbon Matrix with Sigmatex Spread Toe.

This design uses a uni-directional performance layering process and stronger carbon fiber, making the stick both lightweight and durable.

The stick's E geometry offers rounded corners with a concave sidewall on your forehand and convex on your backhand, providing a comfortable feel and seamless energy transfer for maximum puck speed.

The low kick point, located where the red and green meet, is where the stick will flex the most. Having it lower on the stick makes loading the shaft easier, resulting in a quick release .

This is ideal for players taking quick shots from inside the hash marks. If you're currently using a Bauer Vapor, True A-series or a Warrior Covert, then you'll feel right at home with the Ribcor low kick point.

Moving on to the taper, we find the Skeleton Plus Technology , which is also found in this year's top-of-the-line Trigger 7 Pro. This process uses more compact carbon, getting rid of any excess materials and resulting in a lighter, better-feeling stick.

Finally, the Agility Blade with Sigmatex has a single density foam throughout, while the carbon fiber layup creates an optimized stiffness that transitions from a dampened portion in the heel, which is great for stick handling and catching hard passes, to a stiff toe area that creates rigidity, keeping the blade face more square to the target when shooting.

To recap, the key features of this stick are the updated durability throughout the shaft, the low kick point, and the feel and durability in the blade.

All of these attributes make the Trigger 7 a great option if you're looking for a low-kick, quick-release stick with great features and benefits.
